Now Open Longer on Saturdays

We are now serving food for longer on Saturday's!

From the beginning of May The Fisherman's Retreat is serving meals from 12 noon until 9.30pm.

All other opening times remain the same - it just means you can now dine later on a Saturday.

Single Malt Whisky Shop

The Whisky Shop at The Fisherman's Retreat is one of the premier stockists of single malt whisky in the UK. We have single malt whiskies numbering in the hundreds and our stock includes a range of whiskies from every working distillery in Scotland and some very rare malt whiskies from silent and never-to-be-seen again distilleries.
If you are a collector looking for a particular bottle, we may have it in stock or be able to source it for you. We offer friendly, 'no pressure' advice and information, whether you fancy a bottle for yourself or as a special gift for somebody else. You may be looking for a specific date or age - whatever your whisky requirements, we can help you.
Our whisky shop is very unique, due to the fact that you can try a dram from our well stocked whisky bar before you decide on the bottle to take home!
We specialise particularly in the Islay single malts, from the very gentle whiskies of Bunnahabhain through to the very heavily peated Ardbeg, or the fantastic range from Bruichladdich.
So come along and browse through our whisky menu, enjoy a dram (or a coffee for the driver), and view the finest Whisky collection in the North of England.
The Fisherman's Whisky Shop is open from 12 noon until 9pm Tuesday through to Sunday.
Situated only 20 miles north of Manchester, we are easily accessible from the motorway network.

YALUMBA WINE TASTING

Tickets are now available for the Yalumba wine tasting on the 20th July 2009. The tasting will be hosted by our good friend Jane Ferrari, International Ambassador of Yalumba winery located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia - Australia's oldest family owned winery.

The tasting will feature a range of wines from Yalumba complimented by a selection of locally produced cheeses.

Jane's visit will coincide with the 160th anniversary of Yalumba.

Tickets are priced at £20 and are available now.

Dates Released for Whisky Tastings - Winter 2009

The Fisherman's Retreat Whisky Tasting Evenings for Winter 2009 will be held on the following dates -

Thursday 8th October 2009

Thursday 19th November 2009

Thursday 3rd December 2009

Tickets are £30.00 and include a taste tour through six single malt whiskies, plus a haggis, neeps and tatties supper.

We accept credit card bookings over the telephone and are happy to post out tickets, or alternatively collect and pay in person.
